New ABS figures provide hard evidence of the scale of the collapse in the games industry in the past five years but 10 companies have received a boost.

In 2006-7, the games industry earned $137m. In 2011-12, that figure was down to $89m. Expenditure went from $129m to $80m. That brutal drop also reveals that the profit before additional costs – the EDITBA – went from $8m to $9m, caused probably because so much of the earlier work was simple fee for service work inside internationally owned organisations.
