Digital Switchover: the tribe has spoken

The government has released the submissions to its Digital Futures discussion document and started down the long and winding road of explaining options for the 'digital dividend' of freed-up broadcast

In August and September, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage (MCH) and the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) invited submissions on a public discussion paper outlining options for the transition of regional television to digital transmission, and proposed changes to the VHF and UHF radio spectrum bands.

Here is the 1.01 version of the discussion document. Here is the not-for-the-faint-of-heart full version, which kicks off with the disclaimer: “The opinions and proposals contained in this document are those of the Ministry of Economic Development and Ministry for Culture and Heritage and do not reflect government policy.”
