There is no clear favoured network amongst Australian audiences with news this week that Seven defeated Nine in last week’s ratings. With the exception of a sole weekly win for Ten, both Seven and Nine continue to topple each other in weekly wins this year. Seven had 27% to Nine’s 26% and Ten’s 23%.

But it was soccer which stole the limelight with extraordinary figures in the early hours of the morning. The SBS matches attracted figures of between 1.5m and 2 million viewers for games at 2 and 5am. Sydney is the strongest market for the games, with up to 943,000 watching a 5am game.
