The Australian International Documentary Conference is chugging towards us, ready to roll from 5-8 March. This really is a fine event – the issue for many people is not the content but the cost, which is inevitably substantial. For producers it is often seen as a cost of doing business; for emerging filmmakers it is a form of baptism.
