When their boat sinks while crossing the Timor Sea during World War II, a troop of young Aussie soldiers must find a way to survive the harsh seas on a quickly shrinking raft. Hundreds of miles from anywhere, they must confront interpersonal conflicts, enemy attacks, and the advances of one very large, very hungry great white shark.

Film (2026). This brand new science-fiction film from director Andrew Stanton (Finding Nemo, WALL-E, Finding Dory) follows three interconnected stories spanning thousands of years, exploring the history of the world and reflecting on hope, connection and the circle of life.

In the past, a Neanderthal family displaced from their home struggles to survive, protect the children, and use primitive tools. In the present day, Claire, a driven, post-grad anthropologist studying ancient proto-human remains, begins a relationship with a fellow student Greg. And two centuries later, on a spaceship bound for a distant planet, Coakley and a sentient onboard computer confront a disease afflicting the ship’s oxygen-producing plants.

In this week’s episode: When Victorian pensioner Ian Williams lost $1338 in a banking scam, he expected a quick refund and apology. But his bank, a subsidiary of the National Australia Bank, blamed him for the transactions, despite Ian’s dogged detective work producing clear evidence to the contrary.

The bank’s attitude so incensed the self-confessed ‘stubborn bugger’ that he sued for it for $379,005,000. Australian Story followed Williams through the ups and downs of his court case and its aftermath, as he sought to hold the bank publicly accountable and draw attention to the massive problem of online scamming.

Foreign Correspondent: NATO Under Attack – 24 February

Factual Series. The ABC’s landmark current affairs program, Foreign Correspondent, returns for 2026 with a timely episode from Denmark as NATO countries face their biggest security crisis since the second world war.

For months, the ABC’s Europe correspondent Bridget Rollason has been tracking events in Denmark, as the country navigates security concerns over a ‘hybrid war’ with Russia while also dealing with the shocking threats made by one of its key allies – the United States. Watch the trailer.

Marcella Season 3 – 28 February

Series. When the writer responsible for The Bridge pens a not-Nordic but definitely noir crime series set in London, with a detective who can’t trust her own mind, you can expect things to be twisty, unpredictable and dark. And so it is with screenwriter and novelist Hans Rosenfeldt’s drama Marcella.

Now in its third series, Marcella is a multi-stranded crime drama starring Anna Friel (a Golden Globe nominee for Pushing Daisies). The end of Season 2 saw Marcella discover the dark cause of her destructive and terrifying fugue episodes. An opportunity to work in an undercover operation offered her the chance to leave that version of herself behind.

Marcella Backland is officially dead – and she buries her past with that old, broken identity. Now, Marcella is known as Keira, embedded in a duplicitous Belfast crime family, the Maguires, on a mission to infiltrate them and uncover information that could bring about their downfall.
