TV1’s SF Channel has reached deep into the internet, peered over the heads of the fan base, found a spaceship built in a living room, and funded a local production which has nothing whatsoever to do with the usual list of producer suspects.

Sci-fi fans are a passionate bunch – some may say rabidly so – yet they’re not traditionally well-served by Australian film and television makers. So the announcement that Foxtel’s SF channel has commissioned and funded its first Australian feature film – the sci-fi survival tale Arrowhead – has been meet with considerable excitement amongst the fan base.
