The Australian International Documentary Conference re-invented itself for 2013, launching a raft of new initiatives which have been evolving for around five years. With a loyal membership base under professional pressure, and knife-edge budgets, the changes really, really had to work…

“We broke even”, said AIDC director Joost den Hartog. “I think we made two thousand dollars profit, which is good. We are very happy with the end result because we are going out on a limb, and we managed to translate a concept into an actual event, not make a loss and make it work.”
