As Australians prepared to watch the Oscar ceremony live from the US, AFI | AACTA CEO Damian Trewhalla spoke passionately to ScreenHub about the current threat to the industry craft awards in this country, and called on the Federal government to triple its commitment.

Trewhalla said screen industry bodies currently contributed an average of 9% (over the last five years) to the annual Awards budget of approximately $4.4 million, which extrapolates to about $396,000. Screen Australia contributes $366,000 per year to that budget.
