WA FTI: Puppetry for Television

Back by popular demand, this practical workshop is an introduction to using puppets in television and video production.

Participants will learn the basics of using a puppet, lip syncing and how to work within the camera frame. Different techniques for movement and manipulation will also be explored. This fun and unique course will appeal to novices, actors, puppeteer and filmmakers alike. Hand puppets will be provided but feel free to bring along your own.

Ian Tregonning is a professional puppeteer and animator. As a film and television graduate he launched into his career with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre before heading overseas and achieving an extensive list of film credits including ‘Dr Dolittle’, ‘Babe’, ‘Muppet Christmas Carol’, ‘Little shop of Horrors’, ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’ and ‘Labyrinth’.
