FOXTEL today announced subscribers are enthusiastically responding to the advanced functionality of its iQ2 set-top-unit which has now been installed in over 100,000 Australian homes since its June 2008 launch. FOXTEL also released its current iQ and iQ2 subscriber numbers at around 540,000 combined, which represents almost 38 percent of FOXTEL’s total subscriber base.

The FOXTEL iQ and iQ2 set-top-units access the huge library of FOXTEL programming and use an internal hard disk drive for viewers to record programs and watch back whenever they want. The iQ and iQ2 personalise subscriber viewing with the ability to pause and rewind live television, record two programs at the same time while watching a third live channel[1] or watch a pre-recorded program from the FOXTEL planner, as well as access to Series Link programs so they can record an entire season with a single button press.
