Triggered by the SBSI decision to remove the commissioning editor from Melbourne, the Melbourne Documentary Group is holding a forum to discuss current concerns about the role of commissioning editor, the broadcasters relationship with the independent community, and the nature of the independent documentary filmmaker.

The forum aims to “assist a coherent response from Victorian documentary film makers to the SBS decision, while airing other issues that affect us a filmmaking community”.
