Screen Well Foundation
Expressions of Interest: Inaugural Advisory Board Members
The Screen Well Foundation is seeking passionate, dynamic professionals to join our inaugural Advisory Board.
Ready to help shape the long-term sustainability of the Australian screen industry?
The Screen Well Foundation is seeking passionate, dynamic professionals to join our inaugural Advisory Board and help turn the industry’s Mental Health Action Plan into tangible change.
Who is the Screen Well Foundation?
Great screen stories rely on healthy, thriving creative teams. Yet, the Australian screen industry faces significant challenges regarding the mental health, psychosocial safety, and sustainability of its workforce.
In response, Screen Well led the creation of the Australian screen industry’s Mental Health Action Plan (MHAP) – an evidence-informed roadmap for improving workplace practices and mental health outcomes. To drive this strategy forward, we are currently establishing the Screen Well Foundation, a dedicated not-for-profit entity supported by foundational funding from Prime Video. The Foundation will serve as the central coordinating body to build the infrastructure, tools, and resources the industry needs to create systemic change.
The Role
As a member of the Advisory Board, you will not carry formal governance or financial responsibility. Instead, you will provide strategic oversight and champion the adoption of the MHAP across the sector. Crucially, your guidance will ensure our work remains grounded in the real-world realities of screen production, while actively advancing workplace mental health and psychosocial safety by prioritising and guiding the initiatives that will deliver the greatest impact.
Who Are We Looking For?
To guide the foundation, we are seeking applications from a diverse mix of voices. While we need deep screen industry knowledge, we are also open to professionals from outside the screen sector who can bring fresh perspectives and specialist skills. We are seeking Expressions of Interest from:
- Industry executives, production leaders, cast, and crew from every corner of the industry (e.g., live-action production, animation, games)
- WHS, HR, and clinical and workplace mental health experts
- Individuals with lived/living experience of mental health challenges in the sector
- Professionals with expertise in fundraising, partnerships, legal affairs, policy or communications.
The Screen Well Foundation encourages applications from First Nations, CALD, and LGBTQIA+ practitioners, people living with disability or neurodivergence, and those in regional or remote areas.
