The opening night and first weekend of the 2017 Melbourne International film Festival opened with a bang and one of the best squeals to be heard in a crowded place for a long Melbavostok time.
This year MIFF managed to find a gap in the theatrical schedule of The Regent to launch the festival and the party. Usually it is stuck with the swanky but sterile Hamer Hall in the Arts Centre, all elevators and walkways which turn the party into a bunch of tableaus in an underground railway station.
