Factual Series. Australian Story is back on our screens with a new season in 2026, with host Leigh Sales exploring the power of the personal and sharing compelling stories about real people that illuminate, entertain and inspire. New episodes drop every Monday night.

In this week’s episode: When Victorian pensioner Ian Williams lost $1338 in a banking scam, he expected a quick refund and apology. But his bank, a subsidiary of the National Australia Bank, blamed him for the transactions, despite Ian’s dogged detective work producing clear evidence to the contrary.

The bank’s attitude so incensed the self-confessed ‘stubborn bugger’ that he sued for it for $379,005,000. Australian Story followed Williams through the ups and downs of his court case and its aftermath, as he sought to hold the bank publicly accountable and draw attention to the massive problem of online scamming.

Foreign Correspondent: NATO Under Attack – 24 February

Factual Series. The ABC’s landmark current affairs program, Foreign Correspondent, returns for 2026 with a timely episode from Denmark as NATO countries face their biggest security crisis since the second world war.

For months, the ABC’s Europe correspondent Bridget Rollason has been tracking events in Denmark, as the country navigates security concerns over a ‘hybrid war’ with Russia while also dealing with the shocking threats made by one of its key allies – the United States. Watch the trailer.

Special. Tune in for a special live broadcast of the legendary 48th annual Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, direct from the colourful chaos of Oxford Street, from 7.30pm 28 February on ABC TV and ABC iview.

Returning to officiate proceedings are drag icon Courtney Act and ABCQueer’s Mon Schafter, alongside ABC’s Jeremy Fernandez and comedian Nath Valvo. They’ll be joined from the crowd by proud Noongar-Yamatji woman and LGBTQIA+ media personality Brooke Blurton, award-winning celebrity chef Anna Polyviou, and newly out and proud former AFL player Mitch Brown. The party will be covered from all angles, from the glitz, glamour and glitter to powerful uplifting stories from the community.
