Rake, S5 (ABC from Sunday 19 August, 8.30pm)

The fifth and final series of Rake sees that rascally criminal lawyer Cleaver Greene (Richard Roxburgh) taking on politics with a move to Canberra. As a senator in Federal Parliament he’s up against his usual sparring partners like David Potter (Matt Day) but also faces new foes like right wing political Penny Evans (Jane Turner) who bears a striking resemblance to another politician whose name begins with ‘P’. There’s also a new buddy, Cleaver’s driver Jakub (Jacek Koman). Written by Peter Duncan and Andrew Knight, with input from Roxburgh, episodes are directed by Rowan Woods, Jennifer Leacey, Shannon Murphy and Matthew Saville. If you need to catch up on Seasons 1-4, they’re available on STAN.
