Two Australian artists have won the chance to attend the Venice Biennale after they were announced as the winners of the biennial Maddocks Art Prize.
Ash Kilmartin in Melbourne and Will French in Sydney were presented with the awards, which are for artist in residency programs at Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne and Artspace in Sydney. Each has won a return airfare to Venice and a week’s accommodation in an apartment provided by Maddocks, as well as $3000.
