The Tamagotchi Tama Lab will be in Australia from 15 November at The Gamesmen in Penshurst in Sydney.
To celebrate the arrival, a pop-up event for all Tamagotchi fans will take place from 10am to 3pm with various prizes and gifts available for attendees.

What is the Tamagotchi Tama Lab?
The Tamagotchi Tama Lab is a travelling installation featuring a digital interface that connects directly with Tamagotchi Paradise devices. So far, it’s made the rounds of many countries worldwide, usually landing alongside special fan and community events for all Tamagotchi players.
Australian Tamagotchi fans have long been curious about plans for a local event – particularly for those exclusive in-device items – and now they’ll finally get their wish. When the Tamagotchi Tama Lab lands, owners of the Tamagotchi Paradise are invited to visit The Gamesmen in Penshurst to earn special prizes, breed new Tamas and download limited-time items.
During the Tama Lab launch event, Tamagotchi fans will also be able to connect with like-minded fans, and explore the world of Tamagotchi through hands-on displays, giveaways and exclusive merchandise.
Limited edition gift bags will be given to attendees filled with Tamagotchi goodies, including stickers, comic books, visors and colouring pencils. Anyone who spends over $30 on Tamagotchi goods in-store will also be able to select a bonus Bandai gift.
Bandai Namco and The Gamesmen on Australia’s first Tama Lab
‘We’re delighted to bring the Tama Lab to The Gamesmen,’ says Fiona Thomson, Marketing Manager at Bandai. ‘This launch event gives fans a hands-on way to experience the Tamagotchi world and be part of something really special.’
‘Tamagotchis are such a nostalgic favourite and one of our best-loved products,’ adds Daniel Cusumano, General Manager of The Gamesmen. ‘Being the only store to host the Tama Lab is a huge honour and we can’t wait to share this one-of-a-kind experience with our customers.’
Notably, it appears the Tama Lab will be a long-term installation at The Gamesmen. If you can’t make it down for the launch event on 15 November, you’ll still have plenty of time to visit the store before it leaves.
After all this time, it’s great to see the Tama Lab arriving for local Australian Tamagotchi fans and collectors. To date, the in-device options for connecting with a Tama Lab have proven tantalising but out of reach. That’s all set to change this month as a reward for patient fans.

The Tamagotchi Paradise is a surprisingly simple virtual pet device, buoyed by novel new ideas and a sense of simplicity that keeps its pet-rearing gameplay streamlined and cosy. While it learns lessons from the Tamagotchi Uni, it strips back the added features, allowing for gameplay that’s more akin to the original generation of Tamagotchis.
For the nostalgic, there will be a welcomeness in this simplicity. Being able to sit idly back and provide care for your Tamagotchi while not worrying about things like online connection, downloads, decorations, or room decor is its own joy. Here, you’re presented with a stripped back experience that involves feeding, bathing, cleaning, and curing your Tamagotchi only. There are layers over the top of this, but the Tamagotchi Paradise largely focusses on these core elements, introducing a low-maintenance companion to vibe with.
The core twists of the Tamagotchi Paradise arrive as you develop your pet-rearing skills, over a longer period of time. In this particular setup, you’re actually the ruler of a Tamagotchi planet, watching your virtual pets benevolently.
