This Way of Life and The Six Dollar Fifty Man both fell at the last hurdle, not named in the nominations list delivered at the ungodly hour of 2.30am this morning NZ time. The usual suspects dominated the major categories, with the films and individuals nominated and, in some cases, already awarded elsewhere dominating the list.

Leading the running were The King’s Speech (12 nominations), True Grit (10), Inception and The Social Network (both 8). The early complaints about the nominations centred around Inception, for which Christopher Nolan was not nominated as Best Director.
