The International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) has decided to go on a global shopping spree, and invited patrons to fund the trip. With the assistance of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds and the tax breaks on offer to donors in the Netherlands, the IFFR will create Tiger Film Mecenaat.

The creation of the fund comes with an acknowledgement that state funding for the arts is a diminishing source of support, which is why the Festival has teamed with the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds to work with it. The PBC has been securing private patronage for the arts in the Netherlands for over 70 years.
