Lord Waheed Alli, chairman of media rights group Chorion, which owns the rights to many classic properties, mostly British children’s fare, was enjoying a peaceful – if rather wet – holiday in Auckland last week until ScreenHub turned up for a chat.

Having flown in from Australia, where he’d been doing some business with the ABC, Lord Alli was trying to understand the Australian election, putting him in the company of around 20 million others – many of whom were asking why Julia Gillard had denied them the chance to dump Kevin Rudd themselves.
