What we know about the Palworld TCG so far
An animated trailer for the upcoming TCG has confirmed it’ll feature cards that spotlight an array of fan-favourite Pals, each with their own abilities. While the trailer does reveal the basic card design, it’s filled with blank spots. Based on what we can gather, the Palworld TCG will feature familiar mechanics – there’s space for a card cost in the top left corner, spaces for card types, and a text box that will presumably detail abilities.
While one might say the cards bear a resemblance to the Pokémon TCG, as Palworld does to the Pokémon games, most modern TCGs are fairly formulaic in design, with similar mechanics. The first look at cards doesn’t really reveal much, in that regard.
As many early critics have pointed out, it really is the mechanics that’ll make or break the Palworld TCG. While the individual Pals are popular with Palworld fans, the game will require a key hook or spin on the usual TCG formula to stand out in a crowded market dominated by big titles like Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, One Piece and Riftbound.
What’s next for Palworld?
It’s worth noting the Palworld franchise is set to expand even beyond the new TCG, in future. After the initial game proved incredibly popular, inspiring a passionate fanbase, developer Pocketpair quickly announced plans for new content, and even new spin-offs.
That includes Palfarm, a farming simulator which invites players to tend their own farms alongside Pals, either solo or in multiplayer mode.
As announced in early 2025, Palworld is also set to get a full release sometime in 2026, with this introducing a ‘massive amount of content.’ We expect it’ll include bug fixes and tweaks, new Pals, and more refined gameplay features, although exact details are yet to be revealed.
Add the newly-announced card game to the list, and it appears Palworld is in for a big year, filled with new content for players of all kinds.
If you’re keen to learn more about what’s next, it’s best to stay tuned for official announcements.

The first three Lego Pokémon sets have been revealed, after months of teasing. As expected, there’s a posable Pikachu figure in the lot, as well as an adorable Eevee. The flagship set is much more dramatic: it features Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur in battle poses, complete with elemental effects.
Anyone who pre-orders any of these figures will get a Lego Kanto Region Badge Collection set as a bonus gift (and this is technically the fourth official Lego Pokémon set revealed).
