What to expect of the next Nintendo Indie World
For now, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed which games will appear in the latest Indie World showcase, leaving the slate wide open for speculation. We can look to past shows for some clues about what to expect.
Mina the Hollower feels like a likely headliner, given this has appeared in multiple Nintendo showcases, and is yet to narrow its release window beyond Autumn 2026. This game is a dark and gorgeous-looking adventure that’s directly inspired by the Game Boy Color-era of platformers.
We could also see updates for past featured games, such as the cosy-creepy farming sim Neverway, or fairytale metroidvania Well Dweller.
Surprises are also nice, too. We could see an array of newly-released indie games coming to Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 in future. Performance and power are no longer limitations for Nintendo ports, given the power of the Switch 2, so anything could be on the way.
As usual, it’s best to tune into the showcase if you’re keen to add to your library – or to see everything you’re missing out on.

The Queensland Government has confirmed its support for 20 new games projects developed in the state, with Screen Queensland delivering AU$3.7 million in funding for an array of studios and developers. As noted in a press release, the state continues to build its reputation as a hub for digital games development, with investments in various avenues allowing for the growth of jobs, and new game releases that show off the talent of Queensland-based teams.
An array of upcoming and newly-released games will be supported with Screen Queensland’s latest funding grants. Prideful Sloth is being supported to continue developing town life simulator Go-Go Town!. Fat Alien Cat and Nomo Studio are also being supported to see item-placement game Momento to launch. Additionally, the newly-provided funds will also support the development of eight new, unannounced titles from Gameloft Brisbane, Krome Studios, Nightwake, SMG Studio, and Spunge Games. An array of other studios will also gain support for titles in various stages of development.
While all are eye-catching in their own right, we particularly want to shout out CHUNK from Broadside Games, an adventure game starring a clay being who encounters all sorts of danger as they attempt to save the magical lands of Lutum.
