frosty games fest 2026 times dates

Frosty Games is back with another major showcase of Australian and New Zealand-made games this month, with Frosty Mini 2025 set to air on 10 December. Following on from the success of Frosty Games’ mid-year debut, this spin-off will spotlight over 20 games with new trailers, release date announcements, and other updates.

What to know about Frosty Mini 2025

Frosty Mini 2025 will be accompanied by a major Steam event, which will feature demos for some of the games presented, as well as discounts for already-released Australian and New Zealand-made games.

While this game showcase – as implied by the name – will be a shorter event, compared to its predecessor, with around 30 minutes of announcements planned – it should be just as bright and inspiring.

As many of us will know, Australian and New Zealand-based game developers create wonderful, esoteric, and ambitious video games. It’s great to have a showcase event dedicated to spotlighting them.

To date, a few developers have already confirmed their involvement, which should spark some excitement. Fine Feathered Fiends, the developers behind Drăculești, have confirmed a major update for the game during the show.

The Night Shift: 1999 team have confirmed they’ll be part of the Frosty Mini demo event. Based on Bluesky chatter, we’ll also be seeing more of the sci-fi heist game Wymspace Tactics, video store sim Video Nightz, and albatross flight adventure, Toroa: Skycall.

Of course, there’ll be plenty of other major upcoming video games featured, but we’ll just have to stay patient to see everything else.

Also on ScreenHub: The first annual Frosty Games Fest was a major success

The first annual Frosty Games Fest, which aimed to showcase new and upcoming games from Australian and New Zealand-based developers, was a major success by all metrics. Taking to social media, organiser Amy Potter-Jarman noted significant reach for the showcase by numbers, and also by less tangible metrics.

Per Potter-Jarman, the show reached a whopping 270,000 people in 24 hours, many of whom tuned into the show via The Game Awards, IGN, and GameSpot social channels. The Frosty Games Fest Steam event page reportedly had more than 1 million unique impressions in 48 hours, with many viewers wishlisting games in response to their appearance during the show.

Several developers reported a significant boost to wishlists following Frosty Games Fest, with the showcase allowing them a global reach they wouldn’t have had otherwise. 54 games from across Australia and New Zealand were featured in proceedings, with the show giving them the boost they certainly deserved.
