QPIX is running a new course designed to get a feature length student film into the cinemas. As part of the inaugural Directors Feature Project at QPIX, students will be required to make an ultra short drama as well as contribute a sequence to an anthology film that QPIX CEO Kerry O’Rourke believes “hasn’t happened in Australia” in such a way before.

The hope is that the program will take about 20 students, that by the end of the intensive 35 week course will have shot a full length feature that “is not a student exercise, [it] is a serious commercial proposal” he said.
