The 20th Cinerail Film Festival in Paris is truly cute – films have to feature trains, and the jury combines serious literary figures, decorative French actors and children. God’s Fools starts on a train platform, and went up against no less that 52 shorts and features.

It is not surprising that Melbourne filmmakers have a thing about public transport. The loss of tram conductors is still mourned, the city sports the largest area of trams in the world, car drivers are convinced this proves how stupid government planners can be.
