Even emerging producers fresh from the real world have to understand they are a brand, according to the Cannes Film Market’s Producers Workshop. In the film business, there are, broadly, two kinds of marketing: b2c and b2b. B2c is “business to consumer”. Movie posters, trailers, tweets, Facebook pages – all that stuff targeting consumers, the people buying the ticket, DVD or download.
