A new screen industry association, aimed at encouraging and developing the animation entertainment and education business, has been formed to create a focal point for the growing number of professional animators and producers in Western Australia.

The group named WAnimate started meeting informally earlier this year and has since become incorporated.

It has already attracted a range of high profile speakers, including
PIXAR layout artist Cortney Armitage, Producer Susie Campbell, Stop
Motion Animator Pierce Davison and David Court, Director of the AFTRS
