Academy Award nominated Australian musician and composer Lisa Gerrard has composed an original score for an exciting new Australian feature film ‘Playing for Charlie’, written and directed by Pene Patrick.

Screening in the Sydney Film Festival on June 12, Playing for Charlie is a coming of age story that defies the clich?s of the genre. Tony Hobbs, a gifted young athlete, shoulders the responsibility of caring for his baby brother Charlie while his MS-suffering mother, who is still grieving the loss of his father, struggles to make ends meet working night shifts at a telemarketing call centre. Driven by the desire for emotional connection, as much as ambition, Tony hooks up with his recently discovered half-brother Scarf, a petty crim who offers to help finance his sporting needs. “
