Flickerfest Entry deadline fast approaching

With only one month to go the deadline for the 17th Flickerfest International Short Film Festival is fast approaching, so don’t forget to submit your new shorts.

Flickerfest is Australia’s only ?Academy Award accredited Short Film festival, and its largest short film competition. Flickerfest will screen for 10 days under the summer skies at Bondi Beach in January 2008, before heading off around Australia on a 16 venue national tour. The Festival boasts three competitive programs – International, Australian and Documentary as well as a number of special programs and forums out of competition.

In 2008 Flickerfest will continue to award a series of prizes that recognize outstanding achievement in short film making. This year for the first time Flickerfest will introduce the ‘SAE Award for Best Use of Digital Technology in a Short Film’. This new award celebrating the expanding use of digital technology in film will join a host of other illustrious prizes including: ‘The Coopers Award for Best Short Film’ and ‘The Yoram Gross Award for Best Animation’, both Academy accredited, ‘The JVC Award for Best Australian Short Film’ and the ‘National Geographic award for Best Short Documentary’. An international jury will judge these prestigious awards.
