Like many prospective students Manda Flannery has eased up on the practice over the summer but as her course at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music begins she is looking forward to returning to the discipline a degree in creative arts requires.

‘I’m looking forward to solid training, the classes, and having full days of work to do. Over the last two months, not training regularly I’ve found really annoying,’ she said.  ‘I really want to get stuck into my voice, my singing voice. I started to get there with it, but I feel that because this course is especially run through a music school – rather than a fine arts school – the focus on the voice will be very strong.’
