Sweet win for Sweet Country at trans-national APSAs

The climax of the long annual struggle to assemble the multicultural, multilingual, multipurpose APSA's turned into a home country fairytale with some lovely glass for the mantelpiece.

What a fabulous lineup. Producer David Jowsey, jury chair and editor Jill Bilcock, producer Greer Simpkin and director Warwick Thornton. Sadly the writers Steven McGregor and David Tranter missed out.

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards, supported by the Brisbane City Council, rolled out a substantial jury – with beloved Australian editor Jill Billcock, writer/director Adolfo Alix Jr from the Philippines, the Kazakh auteur and cinematographer Adilkhan Yerzhanov, Yoshi Yatabe who is a programmer for the Tokyo Film Festival, and Chinese actress He Saifei.
