Box Office 11 June 2019 – Godzilla spurned around the world

About 100,000 people went to see a non-blockbuster movie this last long weekend in Australia. That is less than a footy audience on Foxtel. But Top End Wedding hangs in.

Last week Top End Wedding had made $4.73m in five weeks, dropped from 255 to 162 screens and took $165,257 over the weekend. It dropped 49% to hit $1020/screen.

Now it has almost cracked the $5m after making $98,380, dropping another 30% and 75 screens to reach $1,004/screen. In other words, the exhibitors ensured it kept the same usage of real estate. At $4,908,000 it should slide through the big five sometime this week.
