Downton Abbey graces 502 screens this week. Clearly six seasons didn’t satisfy fans of the Crawleys, as the film makes its debut at #1, bringing in $6,412 per screen, for a box office taking over just over $3.2 million. The period drama just won out against IT: Chapter 2, which brought in $3,152,125 over 501 screens at #2 in the box office charts. More terrifying than Pennywise is the fact that #3 brings us The Angry Birds Movie 2 lucrative debut. In its first week in release, this must-watch cinematic tour-de-force brought in a screen average of $4,101 across 359 screens, and ended its first week at the Aussie box office with $1,472,296.
