The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival is running now in Melbourne and takes off on a national tour from 23 May. It is said to be pretty impressive.

The St Kilda Film Festival starts next Thursday night on 18 May. Among the great programs are a Vimeo Showcase, containing eight favourites from the world’s largest open source streaming platform, which is also obsessively dedicated to the promotion of quality shorts. There are workshops, forums, couch conversations and a lovely pop-up cinema with great sound. It truly is a great event and a key point of inspiration for emerging screenmakers.
