Every year SPADA hands out awards to those who have made, and will make, significant contributions to the NZ industry. At Friday lunch’s Big Pitch, a worthy winner was found, announced, and forced to hoik an oversized cheque around for the rest of the afternoon. At the closing dinner on Friday evening, three awards were handed out: the Industry Champion, Independent Producer of the Year and New Filmmaker of the Year.
The South Pacific Pictures Big Pitch competition ran, as is traditional, over lunch on the conference closing day, and was MCed by Dave Gibson. The judging panel found itself making a decision between four pitchers.
