Perhaps best known as the writer of Hellboy, Peter Briggs now wears producer, director and writer hats, and is bringing two features to NZ to shoot, assuming MEAA doesn’t get in his way. As one of his films features “fully-functional replica tanks” and both feature man-eating monsters, that might get messy.

The Writers Guild’s Peter Cox, looking remarkably chipper after the previous evening’s SWANZ awards, guided the conversation, which traversed Briggs’ history, his present projects and – in response to an audience question – his opinions on recent The Hobbit issues.
