Queer cinema on show at the Powerhouse

Now in its 15th year, the Brisbane Queer Film Festival (BQFF) is an annual celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender culture on screen. Hosted by the Brisbane Powerhouse, the festival faces the challenge of balancing representation with entertainment, politics with passion, a task which festival producer Troy Armstrong embraces with gusto.

Richard Watts is ArtsHub's National Performing Arts Editor; he also presents the weekly program SmartArts on Three Triple R FM, and serves as the Chair of La Mama Theatre's volunteer Committee of Management. Richard is a life member of the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, and was awarded the status of Melbourne Fringe Living Legend in 2017.
