Emerging from a week of heated discourse on the future of television, content and technology, at the 25th Mipcom conference in Cannes, the message to broadcasters was clear, be nimble or be sidelined.

With the earth and audiences shifting rapidly under broadcasters feet and their traditionally cosy relationships with producers and advertisers under mounting pressure, an urgency to adapt was the most constant refrain.
