XU Zheng’s Chinese comedy Lost in Thailand will collect the Top-Grossing Asian Film Award at this year’s Asian Film Awards (AFA).

A sequel to the considerably less successful Lost on Journey by the same writer, a popular Chinese comedian, Lost in Thailand picked up 993 million yuan (NZ$192.5 million) between its 19 December release and year end, the cut-off date for AFA consideration. It ended its run in mid-February at the close of the Chinese New Year celebrations, having picked up 1.26 billion yuan (NZ$244.4 million).
