Later this month X Media Lab’s Film X-tended conference and lab hits Melbourne, with Pixeco’s Auckland-based James Franklin now added to the line-up. XML:Film X-tended focuses on ‘transmedia’, the use of digital platforms to extend narrative and build interactive content and communities around linear film properties, both pre- and post-release.
Looking to explore the range of options beyond marketing a film, examples will include Apps, online extensions and Alternate Reality Games to extend the narrative and reach of a film, along with dynamic social media strategies giving audiences the opportunity to connect and participate with characters, filmmakers, and each other.
