Oops. TVNZ’s Breakfast show was yesterday the victim of a prank, when Paul Henry interviewed “Jay Pryor”, claiming to represent a pro-whaling lobby group, Commercial Whaling NZ. It was unfortunate to be caught out like that, as Mr Pryor had been vetted by the show’s producers prior to appearing, but more embarrassment was to follow.

It later emerged the perpetrator of the prank was a comedian from a C4 show. Mr Pryor, better known as Guy Williams, is working on C4’s Quest for Fame and credited the show’s writers with coming up with the idea for the stunt.
