Screen Producers Australia has opened applications for Pitch On Demand 2026, a curated program bringing together those with novel screen project ideas and relevant commissioners or production partners.
The annual program, now in its sixth year, is for Screen Producers Australia members with a new project in development. What to know about participating in Pitch On Demand 2026
This year, Pitch On Demand 2026 is supported by Foxtel Group, Fremantle Australia and Moonbug Entertainment, with direct opportunities for those pitching in three defined categories: unscripted, scripted and children’s content categories.
Howard Myers-Rifai, Head of Unscripted Originals at Foxtel Group is ‘seeking fresh and original unscripted projects’ for both Foxtel and Binge. Myers-Rifai has experience with programs including The Real Housewives, Selling Houses, Love It or List It and The Great Australian Bake Off. He goes in-depth with his criteria in his pitch briefing.
Richard Hickey, Chief Creative Officer at Moonbug Entertainment is seeking members working on children’s content. Hickey has experience with global brands including CoComelon, Blippi, Little Angel, Little Baby Bum, Morphle and Oddbods. He also has a specialisation in content distributed across YouTube and major streaming platforms like Netflix and Disney+. He goes in-depth with his criteria in his pitch briefing.
Ellie Madritsch, Head of Development and Anna Curtis, Creative Producer, both of Freemantle Australia, are seeking scripted producers and creators who are looking for a major production partner for their latest project. Between them, they have experience working on scripted projects including Heartbreak High, Back to the Rafters and Home and Away. They go in-depth with their criteria in their pitch briefing.
How Pitch on Demand 2026 will run
Those keen to pitch their projects will need to submit an application by 18 October via the Screen Producers Australia portal. These applications are required to include a biography and company information, a logline, a one-paragraph synopsis, an overview of target audience, set attachments and any other supporting materials.
Finalists who are selected to move on to the pitching stage will be invited to a 20 minute one-on-one pitch with their potential partner, taking place between 17-20 November. In the event of interest, the conversations may continue directly.
As Screen Producers Australia says, the program is solely designed to connect those with novel ideas to pitching partners, and the program does not guarantee funding or continued success beyond the initial conversation. Those in a position to apply should be ready for all outcomes, with a focus on insightful and punchy pitches to gauge interest.
Those who would benefit from the chance to pitch to production partners are encouraged to learn more on the Screen Producers Australia website.
