Xbox FanFest is officially set to tour globally – and there will be one event in Australia in Sydney. The event is designed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the console and its many enduring games.
The first leg of FanFest will kick off in Los Angeles in the US in June, with subsequent shows bringing the showcase to Cologne, London, Mexico City, Tokyo and Toronto.

What to know about Xbox FanFest 2026
‘In celebration of our 25th anniversary, FanFest will go on tour, so that we can share this very special year alongside you, the players who have helped shape our history every step of the way, and will continue to shape the next 25 years,’ the Xbox team said.
As shared, each in-person event will ‘bring the worlds of Xbox to life with opportunities for players to connect with one another’. They will also be tailored towards each regional audience, with unique activations and activities designed to celebrate ‘the community and the ways they engage with gaming, and the people that make it special’.
For now, dates for Xbox FanFest haven’t been announced, but a new Xbox FanFest website has launched and will offer further details as they shape up.
While we don’t know what to expect just yet, it’s worth noting FanFest been around for a while, with past shows tied to Gamescom showcasing various games, as well as offering photo and networking opportunities. In 2025, the show included Ninja Gaiden 4 battles on the big screen for prizing, a 10-foot Grounded 2 plush ant photo op, a Fallout 76 Fishing Zone, and more.
Given it’s the 25th anniversary of Xbox, we expect the touring show will aim to go bigger and better than what’s come before.
Could Fable appear during Xbox FanFest?

We’d expect this year’s Xbox FanFest shows to feature some of the upcoming titles from Xbox Game Studios, particularly those set to be announced during the company’s latest Games Showcase, and others dated for 2026 release.
By the time the shows kick off post-June, we’ll have seen the release of Double Fine’s Kiln, but we could still see a gameplay exhibit for this multiplayer brawler, given it looks like it’ll be fun in-person. We could also see Forza Horizon 6 on show, given it releases in May.
Fable surely earns a spot too, given it’s one of the biggest – if not the biggest – Xbox Game Studios release of the year. After several delays, it’s looking a lot like we’ll see this game arrive in 2026, so fingers crossed it features.
Other than these, we can expect a celebration of the past in this run of FanFest showcase. It is, after all, the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand, and we’ve seen a lot in this time. The birth of gaming icons, the rise and fall of consoles, and so much more.

The Xbox Games Showcase is set to return on 7 June, with an array of major games set to be featured, including the highly-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day. While not officially part of Summer Game Fest, this is the first major show to be dated for this annual season of showcases.
Amid the gloom surrounding the modern games industry, which has been plagued by layoffs and economic downturn recently, it should provide at least a spark of hope for the future, while shining a much-needed spotlight on the developers still working to create transportive gaming experiences.
