A recent update for Teyon and Nacon’s RoboCop: Rogue City briefly replaced the game with an in-development build of an unknown game in the Hunter: The Reckoning franchise.
The update mix-up was first reported on social media by a user named Silent, who noted a ‘major mistake in the making’ when updating RoboCop: Rogue City on Steam. As they noted, the update removed the essential ‘RoboCop.exe’ file to run the original game, replacing it with a file titled ‘Hunter – Win64 – Shipping.exe.’
On downloading the update, Silent discovered an incomplete build of a Hunter: The Reckoning game, complete with a barren 3D world and basic quests.

What to know about the unannounced Hunter: The Reckoning game
As noted by Silent and other users who managed to download the RoboCop: Rogue City update before it was replaced, the game’s developer somehow managed to replace game files with a playable early version of Hunter: The Reckoning – seemingly, a game that’s currently in development, or that was previously in development.
The build reportedly allowed players to explore a semi-open world as an officer tasked with investigating a bar shootout, as part of a quest to restore order in their town. This segment of the game had a few NPCs, but based on screenshots and reports, it was notably empty of much else.
What’s most curious about this discovery is that no new Hunter: The Reckoning game has been formally announced.
This franchise is actually a relatively under-the-radar spin-off of the World of Darkness tabletop game series, which also includes the better-known Vampire: The Masquerade and Werewolf: The Apocalypse.
In the early 2000s, there were a handful of Hunter: The Reckoning video games released by High Voltage Software. In 2025, developer Choice of Games also released an interactive text adventure, Hunter: The Reckoning – The Beast of Glenkildove.
This newly-discovered game could be a new title in development under Teyon – which would make sense, given the access to the game’s files and the (likely human) update mix-up. It could also be in development under the Nacon publishing banner, which would make things more complicated, given this publisher is currently dealing with insolvency.
Keep an eye out for future Hunter: The Reckoning updates
While there has been no formal announcement of what this Hunter: The Reckoning game is, there’s certainly a chance it’s a future, in-development title that was simply mistakenly uploaded.
RoboCop: Rogue City publisher Nacon was due to give a showcase update on new and in-development games last week, before its insolvency declaration forced it to delay any updates.
Given it has previously overseen titles in the World of Darkness franchise, like the ill-received Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, it’s not outside the realm of possibility that it was set to announce a Hunter: The Reckoning game during this presentation.
Nacon’s showcase has now been rescheduled for May, so we could see more of this Hunter: The Reckoning game shortly. Then again, with the company declaring insolvency, this might also have been an odd glimpse at a game we’ll never actually get to play.
Whatever the case, it’s certainly a curiosity.
