Roblox Corporation has confirmed it’s appointed three Australian parents to its new Global Parent Council, with their perspectives set to inform the future direction of the game’s products, policies and partnerships.
The Global Parent Council includes 80 parents from around the world, with representatives from Australia, Europe, North America, the Asia Pacific and Latin America included. They bring expertise across a variety of fields, including education, psychology, law enforcement, digital wellbeing and gaming, and will reportedly inform future decisions made for the game.

Roblox focuses on improving safety and oversight
The move to appoint the new Global Parent Council arrives after much interrogation about safety while using Roblox, including a study highlighting significant risks to children due to the spread of ‘bad actors’ online.
As the game is designed to be social, there is opportunity to meet and play with all sorts of people. In 2025, a Revealing Reality report found that children as young as five were, at one point, able to communicate directly with adults in private chats, and that these accounts could also ‘freely access highly suggestive environments, which seemed to be modelled on hotels with private rooms and characters dressed in sexually suggestive outfits’.
Since this report and public outcry, Roblox has taken significant steps to address safety concerns, with new content maturity settings and parental oversight controls in an attempt to provide a safer environment for children to explore freely.
Parents can now set the ‘content maturity level’ of available experiences on Roblox, to prevent children from accessing potentially harmful content. They can also limit the communication and chat controls, and prevent access to private servers.
In a follow-up report published in late 2025, Revealing Reality confirmed ‘some improvements’ initiated by Roblox Corporation were ‘immediately visible’, based on testing. Rooms with inappropriate themes were much harder to find on restricted accounts, and chat moderation showed a ‘marked improvement’.
The organisation did note there were still problems to be addressed, reporting that it remains simple to create an account with a false age, and also that some in-game experiences ‘still pose problems’ for child safety.
Plans to continue addressing safety concerns
In an effort to better protect the millions of children that use Roblox daily, Roblox Corporation is continuing to make changes, including the appointment of new voices to its Global Parent Council.
‘With online safety front of mind for parents worldwide, the council creates a direct feedback channel between parents and Roblox, reinforcing the company’s continued work to engage families and community members to strengthen safety and civility on the platform,’ the company said in a statement.
Elizabeth Milovidov, Senior Director of Global Parental Advocacy at Roblox, was encouraged by the new parent partnerships, and how they will help to inform the game’s direction moving forward.
‘I am inspired by the calibre of parents who stepped forward to partner with us,’ she said.
‘The launch of the Global Parent Council demonstrates our commitment to parental partnership, where we intend to listen and learn from these individual parents and caregivers. With their support, we will be able to better respond to parental challenges and we look forward to co‑creating a safe and relevant experience for families everywhere.’
Denny Handlin, one of the three new Australian parents appointed to the council, said: ‘As a parent, I think it’s incredibly important for companies to really listen to families when it comes to online safety.’
Handlin added: ‘The Roblox Global Parent Council brings parents from around the world together to have open, honest conversations about the challenges our kids face online. I’m proud to be part of a group that’s focused on practical solutions, and it’s encouraging to see Roblox taking this seriously and creating space for parents to help make the platform safer and more supportive for our kids.’
