PlayStation Australia has announced a major celebration of ‘thirty years of era-defining moments, groundbreaking games and unforgettable memories,’ set to take place on 15 November at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks, Sydney.
Keen PlayStation fans are encouraged to pop in to experience the community event, as well as appreciate a ‘big surprise monument in true Aussie style’ which features PlayStation memories sourced from the local community, as well as the PlayStation archives.
PlayStation Sydney event – Full details and what to expect
The event will open at 9:00 am AEDT, and will run throughout the entire day. Those keen to nab a special 30th Anniversary commemorative patch will want to be amongst the first 1000 visitors. Select attendees will also get a ‘Golden Ticket’ to play a dedicated on-site Gacha Prize Machine.
Successful pulls from the machine could net attendees any of the following prizes:
- PlayStation 5 Pro Console – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Bundle
- PlayStation Portal Remote Player – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
- DualSense Wireless Controller – 30th Anniversary Limited Edition
- PlayStation 5 Midnight Black Peripheral Pack
- PlayStation Merchandise Pack
Visitors will also get a chance to compete in a special Astro Bot speed run competition, where players will be rewarded for completing levels in the fastest time possible. Those who end up ranking could win Astro Bot-themed goodies, including a plush cushion and a wireless controller.
As shared by PlayStation, this event has been established as a way to thank players for their support and enthusiasm over the years. It accompanies an array of new installations that’ve popped up around Australia recently – including at Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley – celebrating all things PlayStation.
Those keen to check out Sydney’s own spectacle should make time to visit the Overseas Passenger Terminal at The Rocks on Saturday, 15 November, from 9:00 am AEDT.
Even if you don’t nab any goodies during the event, it should still be a welcome celebration of gaming history, and warm memories.

Insomniac Games and Marvel Games struck up a partnership over a decade ago, working together to release the critically-acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man. Since then, the two companies have worked on a major sequel, as well as the upcoming Marvel’s Wolverine, spotlighting one of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe.
In a new interview with Game Informer, Haluk Mentes, General Manager of Marvel Games, has confirmed the partnership between Insomniac and Marvel will continue for ‘many years to come,’ as both companies plan to continue working together on major adaptations expanding the Marvel universe.
‘We happen to be here now, carrying this torch, and we feel we have a debt of gratitude to deliver for the players and future creators, whose first encounter with Marvel might well be one of our games,’ Mentes said of the Marvel Games mission. ‘We also actively seek collaborators that want to take on the same mantle. As is usually the case, once we complete a project together, they, too, become “Marvel.” Marvel’s Wolverine with our dear friends at Insomniac Games is perhaps the epitome of this philosophy … It was our shared culture and values that brought us together, and we’re so proud to continue collaborating for many years to come.’
With Marvel’s Wolverine set to launch in 2026, the indication of a continued partnership beyond this has sparked plenty of intrigue about what’s next. And what’s even more notable is that we might actually know what’s next already.
