PlayStation’s State of Play showcase for June was jam-packed, with new and upcoming games getting a major spotlight in flashy trailers and developer spotlights. As one of the first major shows of the Summer Game Fest 2026 season, it set the tone, and paved the way for plenty more to come.

Here are all the big announcements from the PlayStation State of Play showcase.

Marvel’s Wolverine got a flashy new trailer

The first trailer of the PlayStation State of Play for June was for Marvel’s Wolverine, an upcoming single-player action-adventure from Insomniac Games. This trailer confirmed the plot for the game: Wolverine is in a race against time to save a group of mutants (including minor X-Men characters Leech and Callisto) at the mercy of the villainous Trask Industries – and he’s not the only one hunting for them.

New gameplay confirmed there are some stealth mechanics in the game. Wolverine will be able to stalk foes, then jump into battle, using his claws to rip and tear. The game is surprisingly bloody for a comic adaptation, but this does stay true to Wolverine’s roots as a berserker hero.

This gameplay segment also confirmed Jean Grey will make an appearance in the game, and that she’ll wield her telepathic powers to aid Wolverine in at least one battle. It also confirmed he’ll be fighting X-Men villains and anti-heroes Sabretooth, Omega Red, Mystique, Deadpool, the Sentinels, and more, during the game.

Marvel’s Wolverine is set to launch for PlayStation 5 on 15 September.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Spirits gets four new fighters

The next trailer was for Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Spirits, an upcoming action-fighter starring Marvel heroes. This confirmed Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin and Carnage will be selectable for battles, to fight against already announced heroes like Spider-Man and Storm.

Green Goblin sounds a lot like Mark Hamill, for what it’s worth.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Spirits launches on 6 August.

Rayman Legends Retold is a new remake of Rayman Legends

The next trailer was for Rayman Legends Retold, a remake of Rayman Legends that’s been refreshed with a new 3D art style, new dragon-riding segments, and more. In this adventure, you’ll complete various platforming puzzles to save the Glade of Dreams.

Rayman Legends Retold launches on 1 October.

Kemuri is a ninja parkour game where you hunt yokai

The next trailer was for Kemuri, a ninja-starring parkour game where players will explore a futuristic city inspired by Japan, all while hunting for strange yokai (demons). The game looks very flashy and stylish with cool traversal mechanics, high-flying combat, and more.

This is the next game from Ikumi Nakamura (The Evil Within, Ghostwire: Tokyo) at her new studio, Unseen.

Kemuri launches in 2027.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis got a story trailer

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, a major remake of 1996’s Tomb Raider, got a story trailer during the PlayStation State of Play. This is a puzzle-adventure game that translates the action of the OG into a sweeping, gorgeous journey. Tombs are now grander, puzzles are more complex, and creatures look scarier than ever.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on 12 February 2027.

The Lost Wild is a Jurassic Park-like stealth adventure

Next up, Annapurna Interactive and Great Ape Games popped in with a trailer for The Lost Wild, which is a first-person narrative adventure featuring towering, flying dinosaurs. It’s not quite Jurassic Park, but it’s certainly giving those vibes.

Silent Hill: Townfall got a new story trailer

The next PlayStation State of Play trailer was for Silent Hill: Townfall, the upcoming standalone horror game spin-off starring a man named Simon who must find his way, and uncover a deep mystery, within a dark, fog-covered town. Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve‘s new trailer confirmed story elements

Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve popped into the PlayStation State of Play next, with a new trailer confirming this game will lean more into a deep story, starring pilots fighting in semi-realistic aerial battles. Ace Combat 8: Wings Of Theve launches on 2 October.

Stuntman: Hollywood is a stylish new racing-action game

Saber Interactive was up next in the PlayStation State of Play with a trailer for Stuntman: Hollywood, a stylish racing-action game where players will be able to stunt-race and drift their way to glory. Along the way, they’ll need to perform various action segments with other cars, with the overarching goal of being the best stuntman around.

This game doesn’t currently have a firm release date.

Next up in the PlayStation State of Play was a mysterious, bloody trailer for a first-person action game titled ILL, which features zombies and other creeps in some sort of research facility.

ILL launches in 2027.

Control: Resonant launches in September

This was followed by a new trailer for Control: Resonant, narrated by former franchise protagonist Jesse Faden. Now, the action follows her brother, Dylan Faden, as he deals with some sort of temporal ‘resonance’ anomaly that’s broken up the universe. For the first time, we see Jesse in action – although this does still appear to be Dylan’s game.

Control: Resonant launches on 24 September.

Until Dawn 2 is launching in 2027

Neil Newbon stars as a mysterious and overly-friendly character, and Australian actor Dacre Montgomery is also on-board for the adventure. Returning is the creepy, wonderful Peter Stomare, who played psychiatrist Dr Hill in the original game.

Until Dawn 2 launches in 2027.

God of War’s Laufey will star in a standalone spin-off adventure

The final major trailer for the PlayStation State of Play was for a new God of War spin-off from Santa Monica Studio, God of War: Laufey.

The trailer opened on Kratos and Atreus bidding farewell to Faye / Laufey, the wife of Kratos and mother of Atreus. While seemingly a poignant scene, the trailer then revealed Laufey is now in another realm of gods and monsters – including many from classic mythology, and one from classic Dungeons & Dragons – and that she’ll lead the action of a brand new cinematic adventure. To survive through new trials, she’ll need to use her magic powers and strength against strange new enemies.

With the talented Deborah Ann Woll in the lead role, and Santa Monica Studio on development duty, we expect the game will be a lush time.

God of War: Laufey is coming to PlayStation 5 in future, and doesn’t currently have a firm release date.
