New Zealand-based studio New Blood Interactive, most known for hard-hitting action and horror games DUSK, ULTRAKILL, FAITH: The Unholy Trinity, Fallen Aces, and Gloomwood, has pledged NZ$180,000 (AU$147,000) to Make-A-Wish International as a result of its 12-Year Anniversary Sale.
From February to March, the studio pledged to donated 10% of all proceeds from its game and merchandise sales to the organisation, with the goal of supporting Make-A-Wish’s mission to realise the dreams of children impacted by critical illnesses.
With the sale now wrapped up, New Blood Interactive has officially made its donation, which has been recorded as the largest donation yet to Make-A-Wish International’s Infinite Wishes games industry-focussed program, launched in 2025.

The Make-A-Wish International Infinite Wishes program
As shared, the Make-A-Wish International ‘Infinite Wishes’ program is open to any games company who’d like to support granting wishes around the world. It’s particularly focussed on the power of the games community and its cohesion, with a view to empower game developers and players to support a worthy cause.
In a press release, April Stallings, Charitable Gaming Manager at Make-A-Wish International praised New Blood Interactive’s major support, and what it will do for kids looking to have their wishes met.
‘This whole initiative begins and ends with New Blood’s desire to give back,’ Stallings said.
‘The event was a masterclass in community engagement and harnessing the enthusiasm of passionate fans into joy and impact for our wish children. Gaming continues to change lives because of moments like this and the stories of our children that will be told because of it. We are proud of our partnership with New Blood and look forward to the future!’
New Blood Interactive on its major donation

As shared by Dave Oshry, CEO of New Blood Interactive, this donation – made possible by the passion of the studio’s community – is just the start of its work with Make-A-Wish.
‘Thank you to all of our players who participated in the New Blood anniversary sale this year for allowing us to make this incredible contribution to Make-A-Wish International,’ Oshry said.
‘Without you none of this would be possible. And as for our relationship with Make-A-Wish? THIS is only the beginning.’
New Blood Interactive’s donation to Make-A-Wish is highly commendable, and a reflection on what studio investment and success can bring. After more than a decade in operation, New Blood has found its core audience, with an array of successful, popular games under its belt.
To see it pay back that support with this donation is heartening, as the power of the games community is harnessed for overall good. We look forward to seeing what’s next for the studio’s work alongside Make-A-Wish.

Steam Next Fest has launched for another season, bringing with it a host of shiny demos for new and upcoming video games made around the world. It’s a fantastic online event for discovering games of all genres and flavours, with real gems hiding in Steam’s curated pick.
It should be said that it’s tough to find everything that may appeal, as while Steam does a decent job of sorting out its demos by genre and style, it does also tend to surface weird and wonderful games from all over, in varying degrees of quality (and unfortunately, the rise of GenAI has also made it harder to find creative human-made games).
