A record haul of 212 entries from 43 countries, of 126 feature films, 51 documentaries, 18 animated features and 17 children’s films, make up the long list for the Asia Pacific Screen Awards (APSA). The NZ official entry is Armagan Ballantyne’s The Strength of Water.

A Nominations Council will meet later this month to draw up the short lists of up to five entries in each of the 12 categories of awards. Nominees will be announced in early October.
