We haven’t seen ‘Jindabyne’. You haven’t seen ‘Jindabyne’. Very soon, the French will have seen ‘Jindabyne’. And if they don”t lerrrrve it to the bottom of their auteuristic Franch souls de mernier, we will just have to… whine in cafes, probably. ‘Jindabyne’is in the Cannes Directors Fortnight. Tres, tres terrifique!

Directors’ Fortnight has announced that Australian feature film Jindabyne, directed by Ray Lawrence, will screen in the 2006 edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival sidebar event.
The inclusion of Jindabyne brings the tally to eight films in total (five feature films and three shorts) screening. This means that 2006 – the 30th anniversary year of AFC support for Australian films at Cannes – has become Australia’s most successful year since 1986 in terms of the number of films screening at the Festival.
